Introducing “Talk Don’t Care”: A Podcast Celebrating Intergenerational Knowledge and Stories

Hello, fellow knowledge seekers and storytellers!

I am thrilled to announce the launch of my new podcast, “Talk Don’t Care”. As the proud owner of Gardening Under Influence LLC and Plant and Heal Co., my journey has always been about more than just growing food—it’s about nurturing souls, fostering community, and preserving the invaluable wisdom that comes from lived experiences.

    Why “Talk Don’t Care”?

The name “Talk Don’t Care” is inspired by the African American Vernacular English (AAVE) phrase “talk don’t care who do it.” This expression captures the essence of our podcast: conversation is universal and doesn’t discriminate. It’s about the stories we share, the lessons we learn, and the wisdom we pass on, regardless of who we are or where we come from.

    The Heart of the Podcast

“When an elder dies, a library burns.” This powerful proverb underscores the urgency and importance of preserving intergenerational knowledge. In “Talk Don’t Care,” we aim to capture and share the rich tapestry of experiences, skills, and wisdom from people of all walks of life. Whether it’s agricultural know-how, life skills, or personal stories, our podcast is a platform for voices that deserve to be heard and remembered.

    Each One Teach One

Mentorship is a cornerstone of our podcast. We believe in the philosophy of “each one teach one,” where everyone has something valuable to share and learn. By bridging the gap between generations, we can ensure that vital knowledge is not lost but rather passed down and built upon. Our conversations will span across ages, with guests both younger and older, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and experiences.

    Breaking Bread and Building Bridges

In “Talk Don’t Care,” we will sit down, break bread, and get back to the basics of conversation. We will delve into the stories and dynamics that shape our lives, uncovering the lessons that come from them. From agricultural practices to personal triumphs and challenges, our discussions will be rich and diverse, reflecting the multifaceted nature of human experience.

    What to Expect

Interviews with Elders: We will talk to our elders to capture their invaluable knowledge and wisdom, ensuring that their stories and lessons are preserved for future generations.

Agricultural Insights: As a passionate advocate for sustainable gardening and food security, I will share insights and tips on growing food, nurturing plants, and living in harmony with nature.

Life Skills and Mentorship: Our podcast will also focus on practical life skills and the importance of mentorship, encouraging listeners to both learn from and teach those around them.

Community and Connection: Above all, “Talk Don’t Care” is about building a sense of community and connection through meaningful conversations.

    Join Us on This Journey

I invite you to join me on this exciting new journey. Together, we will explore the depths of human experience, celebrate the wisdom of our elders, and foster a culture of learning and sharing. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener, a curious learner, or someone who simply loves a good story, there’s something for everyone in “Talk Don’t Care.” Stay tuned for our first episode, and thank you for being a part of this vibrant community.
